Notre Dame Refugee Centre is an independent charity in the heart of London’s West End. We specialise in support for French-speaking asylum seekers and refugees but our doors are open to all.
Vacancy: ADVICE WORKER (female applicants only) – Immigration, Welfare, Benefits and Housing
Notre Dame Refugee Centre (NDRC), London WC2, is seeking to recruit an Advice Worker for 21 hours per week to work within a small team of advisers operating a busy drop-in service on Monday and Thursdays, and in addition to provide an outreach service to Women for Refugee Women (WRW), London EC1 on Wednesdays.
We’re looking for someone with an OISC Level One qualification and a minimum of two years’ experience in providing welfare benefits and housing advice to refugees and asylum seekers. A good working knowledge of French is preferable but not essential.
Female applicants only are sought as that is a genuine occupational qualification (being a woman) for the post under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9 and Sex Discrimination Act 1975, Section 7.
